We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Female Live‑In Carer to support a female client who requires personal care and daily living assistance in her home. Due to the intimate nature of the personal care involved and in line with the client’s dignity and privacy needs, this role is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 – Genuine Occupational Requirement). This is a highly rewarding position where you will provide one‑to‑one care and make a meaningful difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Support with mobility, moving & handling, and safe transfers
- Assist with medication (following training and policies)
- Prepare meals and support with nutritional needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Support with household tasks (laundry, cleaning, meal prep)
- Accompany the client to appointments or community activities where required
- Maintain accurate daily notes and follow the care plan
- Communicate effectively with the care team and family members
Requirements
- Previous experience in care is essential
- You must be living in Glasgow
- A caring, respectful, and patient nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo a PVG check
- Training in Moving & Handling, Medication, Infection Control (or willingness to complete training)
- Ability to commit to agreed live‑in rota patterns
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia or mobility challenges
- SVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care
