Senior Practice Accountant

Our client, a boutique firm, require an experienced client manager, with UK practice experience to join their team.

You will have solid experience working in a UK firm of accountants, and be well versed in all areas of UK accounting in a practice environment.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare client accounts and tax returns based on information supplied by client, advise on tax payable and payment dates and to meet deadlines, finalise paperwork for dispatch to client and H M Revenue & Customs.
2. Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for their accounts, acting in a proactive way and ensuring attention to details and effective questioning of client.
3. Seek to identify business and personal tax planning opportunities, drawing to attention of partners/ client as appropriate. Preparation of necessary reports/ computations etc, liaising with other professional advisers as required.
4. Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets, meeting these targets and exceeding where possible.
5. Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery.
6. Support trainees by providing on the job coaching.
7. Attend courses that are appropriate to job role.
8. Use appropriate support networks to clarify knowledge on complex queries such as CCH.
9. Prepare client tax returns based on information supplied by client, advise on tax payable and payment dates and to meet deadlines in line with the firms\’ standards.
10. Assist the Partner and manager in taking responsibility for the proactive promotion of the Firm in conjunction with the marketing department.

Critical Knowledge Required:

1. In depth accounts prep Knowledge.
2. Knowledge of Accounting systems including, CCH, Xero, Sage line 50.

Qualifications Required

Essential: ACA or ACCA qualified, will consider qualified by experience.

Desirable: Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience Required

Essential: Minimum of three years proven accounts experience within a practice environment.

Desirable: Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero.
