I am currently recruiting a Building Services Manager for a main contractor based in Hampshire. The turnover for the region is approximately £130 million with project sizes ranging from £2 million through to £30 million. They have a very low turnover of staff, which they attribute to the truly collaborative approach they have to each client and project. They can offer electric vehicles with charging points at the office.
THE ROLE:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of M&E services during tender, pre-construction, construction & commissioning stages.
- Preconstruction responsibilities to include vetting of sub-contractors' tender documents.
- Project planning input in conjunction with Project Planner and Project Manager.
- Undertake analysis and management of team resources.
- Prepare, update and manage the site's 'Project Management Plan'.
- Monitor and review sub-contractors against pre-construction/installation programmes.
- Provide written monthly report to Project Manager and Building Services Construction Manager.
- Chair weekly or bi-weekly rolling progress meetings with principal sub-contractors.
- Manage/maintain records of all sub-contractors working drawings.
- Manage requests for information.
- Provision of utility quotations and site temps.
- Carry out Quality Control inspections for the entire services installation.
- Ensure testing and commissioning is carried out and witnessed accordingly.
- Ensure 'as installed drawing' and O&M Manual are completed/issued.
- Management of projects defects/aftercare.
- Liaise with your fellow Building Services team and Construction colleagues.
