This opportunity is with a well-established and expanding groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the commercial delivery of our projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and supportive environment, working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the commercial management of groundworks and civil engineering projects.
- Measuring and valuing works carried out on site.
- Preparing subcontractor payments and valuations.
- Assisting with cost reporting and budget monitoring.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of client applications and final accounts.
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations and contracts.
- Tracking project variations and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Liaising with site teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Supporting procurement activities and material orders.
- Ensuring projects remain commercially compliant and profitable.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within construction, groundworks, civil engineering, or a similar sector is advantageous.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
