The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

Covering Northern England (Remote based)

Basic Salary – Β£40,000

1st Year OTE – Β£50,000+ (made up of basic salary + commission, which is uncapped) + leased car paid for.

Would suit someone based within Northern England with access to good road links – Manchester, Leeds or Lancashire, however other applicants based elsewhere in the region will be considered.

The role is for an Area Sales Engineer to cover Northern England. This covers a large region – from Liverpool and Chester, Stockport, Manchester, across to Northern Lincolnshire (Boston), and everything North of that line including Newcastle, Leeds, Yorkshire and Cumbria, right up to the Scotland border. This is a role for someone who wants to be on the road visiting customers!

It involves customer relationship management and business development in a region that already brings in some business, but which has massive growth potential. This is a chance to take on an area, make it your own, and be part of the growth of an amazing business and team!

All you really need to be successful is a great attitude and excellent relationship building skills, – there is a thriving client region ready for someone to take hold of and make their own.

The company we are hiring for has been in business for over 30 years and design, manufacture, supply and install goods for use in the aggregates and concrete industries amongst others. They are the undisputed European leader in the manufacture of polyurethane products and are a global leader in their field. They have continually and consistently strengthened their position and expanded into new international markets. Directly or indirectly, the company and their products are currently present in 49 countries on 6 continents. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their team in the UK.

They have an outstanding reputation in their industry, have an enviable track record of delivering, and their customer focus and service levels are second to none.

Most of the time you will be on the road, visiting customer sites, maintaining and building relationships, taking measurements etc, with one administration day a week working from home.

Area Sales Engineer – Role Overview:

  • Acquire and develop new customers in the aggregates and concrete industry across Northern England.
  • Conduct face-to-face customer visits to maintain ongoing relationships.
  • Build a knowledge base of the industry (quarrying specifically), with regards to company products, to be able to give technical advice on product and solutions selection in plants.
  • Generate sales that will offer potential continuous relationships.
  • Ensure the most effective product solutions are provided to customers.
  • Measure up on-site for the supply of materials and solutions in plants.
  • Diary management.
  • Customer data management.
  • Follow up on quotes provided and materials supplied.
  • General customer liaison and gathering of feedback.

Area Sales Engineer – Candidate Requirements:

  • To be successful in the Area Sales Engineer role you will need to possess the motivation, aptitude, and ability to make the most of this fantastic role.
  • You will need to be able to manage, build, and maintain excellent customer relationships while building sales and pipelines, managing your own diary.
  • We are looking for the knowledge and experience of the following:
  • Experience in sales and customer management (although they will also consider an engineer/operator or someone in Quarry management or operations who is looking to move into sales).
  • Practical know-how (e.g. measuring, sketch drawing).
  • Exceptional customer service ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A high degree of independence and initiative.
  • Good IT Skills in MS Office, Outlook, and Mobile technology.
  • Good team working ability.
  • Motivation, drive, and ambition to build relationships and achieve sales targets.
  • Full, clean driving license (Class B).
  • Understanding and experience in sales of spare parts for construction machinery, or knowledge of the market for aggregates, mineral extraction sites and/or ready-mix concrete producers would be an advantage but is not essential. A similar background would be selling repeat order components into any processing industry, particularly polyurethane products.
