Contract Project Design Engineer (CATIA V5) - Aerospace β Dorchester - Up to Β£50 per hour β Outside IR35 β Minimum 3 months Join a High-Performance Engineering Team We're looking for an experienced Project Design Engineer to support the delivery of innovative and safety critical engineering projects within a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.

Project Design Engineer β the role: Producing high-quality 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CATIA V5 .
Leading design activities across the full product development lifecycle.
Managing design packages and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.
Working closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, stress, quality, and programme management.
Supporting design reviews, technical problem solving, and continuous product improvement.
Ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and engineering standards.
Project Design Engineer β candidate requirements: Proven experience as a Project Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer.
Advanced CATIA V5 modelling and drafting skills.
Ideally experience in Aerospace, however automotive, marine and rail industry experience is also being considered.
Experience delivering complex mechanical design projects.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacture.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems.
Understanding of certification or airworthiness requirements.
