As a Strategic Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the global supply chain, developing sourcing strategies, driving cost optimisation, and building high-performing supplier partnerships that support complex manufacturing programmes. Working closely with engineering, operations, and leadership teams, you'll influence everything from new product introduction to long-term supplier strategy. This is a rare opportunity to join a company where procurement is seen as a true strategic partner to the business.

The Role:

  • Ensure a robust supply base that meets its needs in support of customer service, profitable growth, and improved financial performance.
  • Ensure effective procurement and partnership with suppliers, reduce waste, and develop a customer-led organisation.
  • Negotiate and manage all supplier contracts (new + renewals).
  • Ensure adherence to corporate procedures.
  • Support with monthly deflation reporting via POL.
  • Review bad PPI/PPV via POL and work to establish why and gain improvements.
  • Carry out cost reduction and deflation projects.
  • Carry out risk mitigation projects.
  • Conduct sourcing reviews.
  • Help drive a Continuous Improvement Programme within the supply base.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Significant experience in managing external supply base.
  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to build effective partnerships with suppliers.
  • Proven record in budget achievement and effective financial management.
  • Effective and efficient negotiator.
  • Problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate and close out NPAs.
  • Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders and understand the core messaging required.
  • Highly motivated sourcing professional with a background in supply chain.

Hours and Benefits:

  • 37.5 hours per week Mon to Fri
