Aquinas College wishes to employ a dynamic, suitably qualified or experienced Learning Support Officer on a casual basis, commencing as soon as possible. Working under the direction of Learning Support Teachers and with the support of the Director of Education Support Services, the preferred candidate will be enthusiastic and keen to engage with, inspire and support students with different learning styles and additional needs.
Qualifications:
- Availability for regular engagements both at short notice and when scheduled in advance (ie. permanent staff leave coverage)
- Relevant experience and skills and a strong interest in supporting students' learning
- Experience supporting students with significant academic, social, emotional and/or physical needs together with a willingness to support students' personal care requirements
- An ability to support students across all learning areas and year levels
- An enthusiasm to work collaboratively and an ability to work successfully within a team
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- A strong work ethic and use initiative to provide optimal student support
- A commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children
- A Certificate III or IV in Education Support or be willing to engage in further education in the area
- A current Working With Children Check and Victorian Police Check or be willing to undertake if successful for the position
- Relevant permissions to work in Australia
The successful applicant will be appointed according to the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement (CEMEA) 2022. Aquinas College promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.
