MEL Research is an Independent Social Research company based in Birmingham. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a remote Telephone Supervisor / CATI Supervisor to join our team.
JOB PURPOSE
To oversee, monitor and drive performance of a team of telephone interviewers in delivering the highest performance standards and to agreed daily targets and quality specifications.
Duties include:
- Ensure all interviews are conducted in accordance with the Market Research Society (MRS) code of conduct and our ISO standards ISO20252.
- Ensure interviews are compliant with the clients brief and GDPR, Data Protection requirements.
- Monitor timekeeping and attendance of the team allocated to a project.
- Monitor calls (both live and from recordings) in a timely manner, ensuring that all information gathered is accurate and representative of the respondents' views.
- Maintain attendance and performance data records.
- Complete quality check reports providing feedback and coaching as required.
- Motivate a team to achieve KPI's in key areas, such as call quality, personal time and wrap time.
- Understand our social purpose, vision and mission.

We are keen to grow our fieldwork supervision team to support projects which involve daytime, early evening & weekend hours. This means that we can often accommodate flexibility and our work can suit candidates who have other part time jobs, ad hoc hours, or the need to fit work in around other commitments; for example, candidates requiring occasional second income, occasional work from home hours, those working in the voluntary sector or returning to work parents. Our work is offered with a minimum number of hours agreed in advance monthly with the opportunity to increase earning potential further subject to candidate flexibility, performance, and availability of work on a project-by-project basis.
Technical Requirements
Our remote position would require you to have:
- Minimum 1 Year supervision experience of CATI/Telephone Interviewing teams
- A working PC/Laptop with minimum operating system of 2Ghz CPU or faster, 4gb Ram or more, 250gb Hard Drive and Windows 10 or 11
- Strong Internet Connection via ethernet cable with upload and download speeds in excess of 10kbps
- Your own headset with built in microphone
- A quiet space to work, free from distractions

We operate an extensive programme of quality assurance which includes ongoing support and training. Previous CATI Supervision experience is a requirement for this role.
