Mehr Health CIC seeks an expert to convert our funding pipeline into income. Priority Year 1 streams include trusts, foundations, statutory grants (Lottery, UnLtd), and NHS/ICB commissions. Join us to lead our revenue growth from day one and turn our proven platform into lasting impact.
Mehr Health CIC was registered in April 2026. We have the platform, the content, and potential, but as a brand new organisation, we need expert guidance to convert our funding pipeline into real income quickly. Without this role, grant applications will be written by the founder alone, reducing quality and speed. With this role, we can pursue multiple funding streams simultaneously, dramatically improving our chances of securing the income needed to grow the organisation and deepen our community impact.
The Persian-speaking community in the UK, including over 350,000 Iranian- and Afghan-born residents, faces significant health inequalities rooted in language barriers and culturally inappropriate health information. Our platform already reaches them. This role helps us fund the work that makes that platform better, bigger, and more impactful.
Specific outcomes this Director will help us achieve:
- Securing our first grants from the National Lottery Community Fund and UnLtd within Year 1
- Developing a costed project proposal for NHS/ICB commissioning on breast cancer awareness for Persian and Dari-speaking women
- Building the financial resilience needed to bring on our first paid staff member in Year 2
- Establishing Mehr Health as a credible, fundable organisation that can grow its community impact year on year
This is a founding role. The person who takes it will leave a genuine mark on an organisation that exists to reduce health inequalities for one of the most underserved communities in the UK.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in trusts and foundations fundraising, bid writing, or statutory income generation, ideally in health, community, or social enterprise
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to draft compelling, evidence-based funding applications
- Understanding of the UK grant-making landscape, including NHS commissioning frameworks
- Passion for health equity, minority communities, or social enterprise
- Ability to work independently and remotely; No previous trustee experience is required; we will support your development in this role.

What will you be doing?
Mehr Health CIC is a newly registered Community Interest Company reducing health inequalities for Persian-speaking communities in the UK. We have a 4,000-page Persian health platform, a YouTube channel with 4,000+ subscribers and potentially a pipeline of NHS, council and charity relationships. What we need now is someone who can turn that into income. You will join our agile board as the lead voice on income generation. Your primary focus is to oversee and drive our Year 1 funding strategy.
As our Fundraising & Grants Director, you will:
- Identify and prioritise grant opportunities aligned with our mission; health inequalities, digital inclusion, ethnic minority health, early prevention, and community education
- Lead or co-write applications to trusts, foundations, and statutory funders, including the National Lottery Community Fund, Pink Ribbon Foundation, The Fore, UnLtd, and the King Charles III Charitable Fund
- Advise on NHS and ICB commissioning opportunities and help shape project proposals and costed budgets
- Strengthen our impact reporting, funder communications, and Community Interest Statement to maximise credibility with grant‑makers
- Help develop our Year 1 and Year 2 income generation strategy, including a diversified mix of grants, commissions, and traded income
- Beyond bid leadership, act as a strategic advisor to our Founder
- Attend a monthly 30‑minute check‑in with the founder and contribute to board discussions
