Mego Employment is working with a well-established and highly respected engineering company based in Plympton, who are looking to recruit a skilled TIG Welder / Fabricator to join their close-knit and experienced team. This is a hands-on role performing TIG welding. You will be involved in a wide range of bespoke fabrication projects, working with stainless steel and heavy steel components, including structural steel, beams, and girders. This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their workmanship, and is comfortable taking ownership of work from start to finish.
The Role
- TIG welding of stainless steel components to a high standard
- Fabrication and installation of heavy steel, including steel beams and girders
- Reading and interpreting technical and fabrication drawings
- Fabricating, assembling, and installing bespoke metalwork
- Setting out and installing balustrades and architectural metalwork
- Supporting steel erection and installation activities
- Managing your own workload and supervising others when required
What We're Looking For
- Proven TIG welding experience, particularly with stainless steel
- Heavy steel fabrication experience, including structural steel, beams, and girders
- A strong background in metal fabrication and installation
- Valid welding tickets
- The ability to read and work accurately from drawings
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
- The ability to work independently and within a small team
- A full, clean UK driving licence (essential for site-based work)
