About the Role
We are recruiting for a CNC Machine Operative to join a well-established and respected engineering manufacturer based in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company known for producing high-quality precision components across a range of industries. Working within a fast-paced production environment, you will be responsible for operating CNC machinery, maintaining quality standards, and supporting efficient manufacturing processes on alternating shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery in line with production requirements
- Load and unload materials and components safely and efficiently
- Monitor machine performance and ensure output meets quality standards
- Carry out basic machine adjustments and report any faults or issues
- Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment
- Work to engineering drawings and specifications where required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production area
- Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies
About You
Essential:
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience operating CNC machinery or similar production equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shift work
Desirable:
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Knowledge of CNC programming or machine setting
- Background in precision engineering or heavy manufacturing
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers
