Are you an experienced butcher looking for a new role? We are currently recruiting for a qualified butcher to come and join a fantastic busy team based in a beautiful area of Buckfastleigh. Working in the hub of their business you'll ideally have skills and experience in both retail and production butchery techniques and also possess a willingness to learn new skills.
Shift: Day shift (630am - 230pm) Sunday to Thursday
Pay: Β£16 per hour
About the role:
- Taking primal cuts of beef, pork and lamb, as well as other seasonal meat and cutting these to a high standard for retail sale.
- Operating machinery and using knife skills.
- Demonstrating a good understanding of yield and portion control so that unnecessary waste is not created and the most is made out of each cut of meat.
- Cutting and packing meat to company standards.
- Ensuring hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
About you:
- Experience of working in a retail and/or production butchery, ideally with relevant qualification.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and reliable.
- A good communicator, with excellent customer service skills.
- Passion for good food and cooking.
- Knowledge and practical experience of working with food safety standards.
