Planner/Buyer – 9-month fixed‑term contract with potential to become permanent. Hybrid working with required onsite attendance. Based in Kent, United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all purchasing functions, including order placement, stock control, supplier negotiations, and vendor performance.
  • Collaborate with planning, production and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability and efficient booking‑in of goods.
  • Lead supplier performance management activities, including quality, delivery and cost reviews.
  • Drive inventory reduction and process improvements through lean strategies such as vendor consignment, Kanban and just‑in‑time.
  • Support new product introductions and supplier audits to ensure supply chain readiness and compliance.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • CIPS qualified or studying (preferable).
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing buying role.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality and cost issues.
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
