The Vacancy We are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of talented professionals and right now we are seeking to recruit a motivated and talented Production Team Leader to join our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) team.
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the SMT department, leading and developing a team of production operators and technicians to ensure high-quality PCB assemblies are manufactured safely, efficiently and on time.
You will be responsible for achieving production targets, supporting SMT machine setup and optimisation, resolving production issues and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SMT team and allocate work based on skills, experience and production requirements.
- Ensure SMT production plans and daily/weekly targets are achieved, monitoring performance and taking appropriate action where required.
- Support and oversee SMT machine programming, setup, product changeovers and optimisation.
- Identify and resolve production issues, including machine, process, component and quality-related problems, working closely with Engineering and Quality teams.
- Contribute to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities, while maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety, 6S and workplace organisation.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous Team Leader or supervisory experience, preferably within an electronics or manufacturing environment.
- Experience or a strong understanding of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of SMT machine setup, changeovers and programming.
- Knowledge of solder paste printing, component placement and reflow soldering processes.
- Experience of fault-finding and problem-solving within a production environment, with an understanding of quality control, optical inspection, SMT defects and rework.
