We’re on a mission to be the nation’s most-loved neighbourhood restaurant. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a stand-alone Payroll Manager to make sure the amazing people across our restaurants are paid accurately, compliantly and on time, every single pay run.
You’ll own the smooth running of payroll across our UK sites using Fourth Payroll, oversee TRONC administration, and work closely with our People, Finance and Operations teams to keep everything ticking along nicely. In short: you’re organised, detail-focused, and the kind of person who sleeps well at night knowing the numbers are spot on.
What you’ll be doing
- Running payroll
- Managing the end-to-end payroll process using Fourth Payroll
- Making sure salaries, hourly pay, bonuses and deductions are processed accurately
- Liaising with Troncmaster to administer tronc through payroll
- Managing payroll deadlines, approvals and payment runs
Supporting the numbers
- Preparing payroll journals and supporting payroll reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving payroll queries
- Working with our Finance team to support month-end processes
Keeping things compliant
- Making sure payroll follows UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NIC, pensions and statutory payments)
- Supporting HMRC submissions and year-end payroll processes
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation
What we’re looking for
- Experience running or supporting payroll operations
- Experience with Fourth Payroll (or a similar payroll system)
- A good understanding of UK payroll legislation
- Strong attention to detail and great organisation skills
- Confidence handling payroll queries and working with numbers
Bonus points if you also have
- Experience in hospitality, retail or multi-site businesses
- Knowledge of TRONC or service charge administration
- A payroll qualification (CIPP or similar)
