An exciting opening has arisen for an enthusiastic and self‑motivated specialist physiotherapist with neurological experience to join our team at Stagenhoe in Hitchin. About Us
Stagenhoe is a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre based in Hertfordshire, caring for people aged 18 and over with a range of neurological conditions. The clinical team consists of nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, supported by healthcare assistants and therapy assistants.
Main Duties of the Job
- Responsible for the day‑to‑day management and leadership of staff within the service and provide support to staff as required.
- Provide on‑site leadership for the team and take an active role in service developments through service‑user participation strategies, peer review, audit and evaluation of outcome measures.
- Oversee service delivery from referral to discharge to ensure treatment programmes are planned and delivered effectively.
- Maintain an awareness of the caseloads of the team to ensure the most effective and efficient service is provided.
- Lead clinical governance activity within the team with regard to clinical risk management and implement clinical governance policies, standards and guidelines.
- Ensure a high standard of service delivered within local and national guidelines and within resources available; ensure documentation produced by other members of the team is in line with professional and Brainkind standards.
- Chair interdisciplinary team meetings and review meetings as appropriate.
- Work with other professionals in managing operational issues of services which cross organisational boundaries.
- Manage own caseload within an agreed defined clinical area.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy intervention to meet the assessed needs of service users.

Qualifications Essential
- Suitable applicants will have a degree/diploma within physiotherapy and be HCPC registered.
- Relevant post‑registration training and experience, including relevant leadership experience and training in a health or social care setting.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Proven experience of working in an appropriate service across healthcare settings.
- Experience of working with clients with moderate to advanced neurological disease and disability.
- Demonstrable experience of evidence‑based practice, research, audit and outcome measures.
- Highly specialist knowledge and application of neurological therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning.
- Seating and postural care experience desirable and respiratory competency essential.
- Evidence of managing a team of staff, including setting objectives, appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues.
