We have a vacancy in our acute Band 5 rotation based in North Manchester General, with access to community rotations in stroke, community neuro and intermediate care. As we continually strive to improve services for our patients, families, & our teams too, you'll use the biggest digital EPR system of its kind; 'Hive' to drive a culture of exciting innovation. With a commitment to multi-disciplinary working to achieve the best possible care to our patients, you'll join a dedicated integrated therapy team alongside physiotherapists, speech & language therapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants.

Using your practiced knowledge of occupational therapy assessment & treatment technique, you'll provide expert advice to ensure our patients gain full understanding, cooperation, compliance, and consent.

With a recognised degree in occupational therapy or equivalent & registered with the Health & Care Professionals Council, you'll monitor & review occupational therapy care plans against outcome measures & adjust care plans to facilitate achievement of goals. With strong organisational, planning & prioritisation skills, you'll maintain accurate & comprehensive records of assessment & treatment in line with Royal College of Occupational Therapy national standards & local policy.

You'll effectively examine & assess patients, identifying their problems & needs ensuring that medical, psychological, social, environmental & cultural factors are taken into account. With a flexible attitude & the ability to adapt working in different specialties & different environments, you'll maintain a calm & professional approach to all duties participating in weekend rota.

As a naturally empathetic individual with excellent communication & interpersonal skills, you'll build rapport & demonstrate compassion towards patients & carers, providing effective advice to individuals during difficult circumstances. As a problem solver, with well-developed concentration & analytical skills, you'll utilise examination & assessment findings to competently plan & carry out realistic programmes of treatment from a range of therapeutic options appropriate to each patient using evidence-based practice.

Essential: Recognised BSc Honors degree in OT or equivalent, Health and Care Professions Council registration.

Desirable: Registered member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists.

Essential Clinical Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, good organisational/planning/prioritisation skills, ability to work as part of a team, effective written communication skills e.g. clinical records, reports to other health care professionals and external agencies.

Knowledge/Experience: Experience of the NHS healthcare system (or equivalent healthcare system), experience within acute, rehabilitation and community settings, knowledge of occupational therapy assessment and treatment technique, knowledge of local and national policies and procedures e.g. Manual Handling, College of Occupational Therapists/Health and Care Professionals Council Code of Conduct/Ethics, Health and Safety, Infection Control, CPR, Equality and Diversity, evidence of Continual Professional Development, experience of and commitment to interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary team working.
