Working within the operations maintenance Integrated Process Team (IPT), the maintenance technician will provide technical maintenance engineering support for planned and reactive maintenance activities within our vaccine manufacturing facilities located at Milton Keynes. The maintenance technician will have the aptitude and capability to work individually or as part of a small integral team, dedicated to a series of manufacturing streams on a range of process and facility assets. Ideally, the maintenance technician will be multi-skilled, with the ability to confidently fault find, diagnose, and rectify issues on mechanical, electrical or controls-based manufacturing machinery and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Execute planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, refurbishment, installation, and modifications to plant and services.
- Work safely to current statutory legislation and industry guidance.
- Collaboratively work together with peers, internal stakeholders and external contract partners to complete maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to coach and mentor peers and team members to share skills and knowledge, supporting the overall development of the team.
- Engage with internal IPT business unit customers, to define service levels and deliver the agreed outcomes.
- Strive for continuous improvement to minimize downtime, enhance plant availability, efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
- Responsible for the execution of planned electrical, mechanical maintenance and statutory inspections.
- Liaise with internal customers to proactively identify and remediate emerging technical issues.
Your Profile:
- Preferably time served experience with a mechanical, electrical, or controls-based systems role.
- Background in manufacturing, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge in electrical switchgear and controls.
- Knowledge of SAP and other relevant building management systems.
- Ability to effectively use written documents like standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance work instructions, engineering technical drawings, electrical schematics.
- Knowledge and understanding of steam systems and utility services preferred.
- Knowledge of pressure vessels (process and utility vessels) preferred.
- Knowledge of autoclaves and high-speed centrifuges preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of pure water generation and distribution services preferred but not essential.
