Main duties of the job
What We're Looking For

All posts within the maternity service are rotational, ensuring midwives maintain and develop clinical skills across all care settings, including:
- Birth environments
- Antenatal wards
- Postnatal wards and close observation unit
- Community Setting
Our teams work a variety of rostered shifts, including long days and night shifts to support a 24-hour service, 365 days per year. We are looking for adaptable professionals who can demonstrate the flexibility required to meet service needs.

Qualifications
- Essential: Registered Midwife Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Midwifery
- Desirable: NIPE qualification
Experience
- Essential: Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of midwifery in all areas of the service with recent working within the community setting
- Recent experience of working in an acute hospital setting
- Completed midwifery training
- Evidence of effective clinical skills e.g. -Adult resuscitation -Neonatal resuscitation -Competent CTG interpretation
Knowledge
- Essential: IT skills; computer literate
- Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and Health & Safety issues.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Knowledge of current midwifery practice and UK context
