We are looking for a Locum Dental Practitioner/Locum Dentist to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Pirbright Dental Centre, in Woking, Surrey. This is a locum role (18.5 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.
Pay rates:
- PAYE - £48.68 (£43.44 + £5.24 holiday pay) per hour
- Self-employed - £55.98 per hour
Main duties of the job:
- To work independently and provide a full range of dental treatment to maintain oral health.
- To undertake related general administrative duties where required.
- To assist the Senior Dental Officer (SDO) or operate independently to achieve dental fitness targets.
- To ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for direct patient contact.
- To ensure that all treatment is correctly recorded on the electronic health record and any relevant FMed documents.
Qualifications:
- Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
- Certified completion of Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or evidence of at least 12 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience in a primary dental care setting.
- Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
- Must provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4.
- Completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures.
- Must have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures.
- Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
