Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced staff nurse with current SACT competencies to join our new ambulatory care service in BHOC. If you are keen to join a small and innovative team delivering new therapies and supporting patients to stay out of hospital.
Main duties of the job
D602 is a newly established service providing care and treatment to patients in an ambulatory setting allowing patients to remain at home, or out of hospital, for the duration of their treatment. The ambulatory care unit will offer access to regular AP review and nursing assessment, urgent admission routes to inpatient beds and ongoing support to patients within agreed time frames. D602 will be a nurse and AP led unit delivering oncology, haematology and BMT pathways. The Ambulatory care team will support patients on the AC pathway from start to finish including any need for urgent and emergency care required within opening hours.
The unit will be open 7 days a week from 08.00 - 20.00.
The staff nurse will ensure the patient is welcomed into the Ambulatory Care unit. They will deliver SACT administration to Oncology, Haematology and BMT patients on the Ambulatory pathway in line with best practice.
