Working Part time: 28.5 hours per week. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join one of our Community Response Hubs covering Cheshire West and Chester. Based in a community setting, you will be part of a large team providing care and support to service users within their own homes. Applicants must have a HCPC registration and be able to demonstrate they have successfully completed a broad range of placements across clinical areas as a student or at Band 5 grade within the NHS. Good time management skills, organisational skills and an ability to work autonomously under pressure are essential requirements for this post.
Main duties of the job:
- To work as an autonomous practitioner to perform therapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations.
- To communicate empathetically with patients with complex clinical presentations, explaining their clinical diagnosis and treatment programmes.
- Ensure that patients understand this and answer any queries they may have in relation to their diagnosis and treatment plan.
- To use clinical reasoning to provide a diagnosis and develop, deliver and adapt individualised treatment programmes.
- To contribute to monitoring and evaluation of treatment in order to measure progress and outcomes to ensure effectiveness of interventions and service delivery.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications:
- Essential: Degree in occupational therapy or equivalent, HCPC registered.
- Desirable: Membership of professional body.
- Knowledge and Experience:
- Essential: Between 24 and 36 months post graduate experience, evidence of CPD and reflective practice, knowledge of current best practice in specialist occupational therapy area.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Essential: Communication skills (verbal and non-verbal), ability to organise and respond to complex information, and work under pressure.
- Desirable: Supervisory skills and/or first line management experience.
