We are looking for a Data Office Domain Lead who is collaborative, delivery-driven, and strategic to join our Data Office team, based in the Slough office in the United Kingdom.
About the role
As a Data Office Domain Lead, you will be accountable for driving the adoption of UCB’s global data strategy, governance, and best practices within one or more functional domains. You will ensure data enablement, governance, reuse, and lifecycle management are embedded across projects and digital solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT, and the broader Data Office, you will translate the enterprise data strategy into tangible, domain-level outcomes that support innovation, analytics, and operational excellence.
Who you’ll work with
You will partner closely with domain stakeholders, functional leaders, project managers, and IT representatives to implement data strategy and solutions. You will collaborate with other Data Office leaders to set priorities, deliver transversal initiatives, and communicate progress to leadership forums. You will also contribute actively to the wider Digital Culture and Data community across UCB.
What you’ll do
- Drive implementation of UCB’s global data strategy within assigned domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and priorities.
- Ensure consistent application of data lifecycle policies, including ownership, governance, quality, security, and privacy of domain data assets.
- Partner with IT to deliver fit‑for‑purpose data platforms, infrastructure, and tooling aligned with best practices.
- Enable data sharing, reuse, and discoverability through effective structuring, cataloging, and search capabilities.
- Act as a delivery‑oriented business partner, developing data products and capabilities addressing analytics, technology, and process needs.
- Contribute to Data Office planning, execution, and communication, supporting leadership decision‑making and community engagement.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Master’s degree in data, engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, software development, or digital project delivery.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and its unique data challenges would be a strong asset.
- Proven track record of implementing data strategies in large organizations.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy, and quality standards.
- Effective communicator able to mediate between business and technical teams.
- Comfortable navigating a global, matrixed organizational structure.
- Curious, collaborative, and driven to simplify and automate where possible.
- Skilled at identifying and solving complex cross-functional data challenges.
