Salary: £35,292 - £38,596 per annum
Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
Set in spacious and relaxing grounds, Priory Hospital Middleton St George, located in Darlington, County Durham, is a specialist inpatient service for adults with mental health issues, complex needs and behaviours that challenge. We are dedicated to supporting people to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs, enabling recovery and re-engagement within the community, and maximising life opportunities. We accept referrals from a wide variety of public sector organisations throughout the UK, including special hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, prisons, courts, low secure units (LSUs), medium secure units (MSUs), forensic lead commissioners, social services, NHS Mental Health Trusts, GPs, the police and others.

Role Overview
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD), you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with complex mental health and/or learning disability needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate personalised care
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
- Support individuals throughout their recovery journey
- Promote a safe, therapeutic environment
- Administer medication in line with best practice
- Contribute to risk management and safeguarding
- Uphold the highest standards of clinical care while empowering patients to achieve positive outcomes and greater independence

Essential for the role
You must be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with a valid NMC registration and a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, person-centred care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and a proactive approach to promoting recovery and positive patient outcomes.
Desirable experience
- Previous experience working within a mental health or learning disabilities setting, including acute, rehabilitation, PICU, forensic or community services
- Experience in risk assessment and management, care planning, medication administration, safeguarding, and supporting individuals with complex mental health needs
- Commitment to continuous professional development
