Our team includes Practice Area Leads, Strategists, Behavioral Scientists, Account and Event Managers, Operations Specialists, plus Content and Design Professionals. In partnership with our clients, we transform data and insights into effective medical communications solutions across the product lifecycle, ranging from clinical and real-world study communications support, to scientific communications and evidence communication, and to Medical Education for healthcare professionals. We are a highly collaborative and intellectually curious group of people located in 14 countries across 4 continents.
This role is accountable for the strategic growth and management of our flourishing Medical Affairs Communications practice, leading a team of 18 Account Handlers to achieve strong customer relationships, outstanding medical communications solutions and achieve growth targets and ensure high quality program strategy and delivery. The successful candidate will support our growth by ensuring an innovative, differentiated overall proposition for the Practice Area, harnessing IQVIA’s Connected IntelligenceTM differentiators, including insights, data and analytics, and collaborate internally and externally to identify and realise new partnerships for growth.
- Growth: Drive financial growth of Practice Area, owning the Practice net new business and revenue targets. Lead Account Management and collaborate with Business Development teams and other subject matter experts to develop and implement strong Account Growth Plans which drive organic, land and expand and net new business.
- With business development teams, actively participate in / lead as appropriate, MSA and procurement discussions to expand portfolio of clients.
- Ensure growth of Practice across current and future target geographies by identifying and quantifying opportunities to expand capabilities and services into new areas and countries, developing business cases for expansion as appropriate.
- Develop and execute strategy to successfully cross sell solutions and extend relationships with clients from clinical study support into Medical Affairs Communications.
- Identify and lead strategic pricing initiatives, ensuring inclusion of IMC services within IQVIA pricing tools and encouraging default inclusions of services into core IQVIA solutions across Research and Development, Real World Solutions and Commercial Services.
- Client relationships and business development: Maintain Leader-level client relationships for key companies / accounts; act as senior oversight / sponsor to key growth accounts and sit on client governance teams as required, leading initiatives to deepen and strengthen relationships across client teams and into new portfolios to drive growth.
- Generate strong profile outside IQVIA and form relationships with senior client and industry decision makers to generate new business opportunities.
- Take accountability for high quality, winning new business proposals, acting as senior lead for proposal and pitch / bid defence teams as required and leading Account Management team to develop high quality, differentiated solutions.
- Maintain strong hit and strike rates for proposals and drive improvements over time.
- Quality: Maintain quality and effectiveness of Practice service delivery through leadership of Account Management and delivery teams, identifying opportunities to drive improvements in ways of working and advising on operational enhancements to ensure they meet Practice Area needs.
- Accountable for financial accuracy and health of accounts, including achieving profitability targets, and effective, timely and accurate financial forecasting.
- Internal collaboration: Provide subject matter expertise across the Practice Area and wider IQVIA, serving as a senior point of contact for other leaders within IQVIA, to identify fruitful collaborations.
- Participate in collaborative service development and business development opportunities that drive growth for IMC.
- Team leadership: Take leadership role on the IIMC Leadership Team, ensuring all activities ladder up into Practice Area growth.
- Line manage Account Management team across a diverse portfolio of accounts, in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations and supporting and developing them to achieve their goals and develop new skills.
- Devise Practice-specific training programme to ensure efficiency and consistency for core services.
