The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, would like to appoint a Locum Foot & Ankle Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon to join a dynamic team of consultant Foot & Ankle surgeons. We have a vacancy in the F&A team for a locum consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery. The appointee will be expected to work flexibly within the F&A team and participate in the multi-disciplinary team in the management of patients with complex orthopaedic problems. They may be expected to participate in the on-call rota.
Main duties of the job:
- We are seeking a locum consultant to join our existing enthusiastic and experienced team of foot and ankle surgeons.
- The Foot & Ankle team are involved in many innovative initiatives to enhance the provision of foot and ankle surgery and to continue to work closely with academic colleagues to build the evidence base for orthopaedic procedures.
- This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive university hospital environment.
You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC and hold Licence to Practice. Candidates are highly recommended to visit the department and hospital.

Person Specification:
- GMC Essential: Full GMC registration and licence to practise
- Qualifications/Training Essential: FRCS (Tr&Orth) or equivalent, General training in Orthopaedics including Foot & Ankle, 12 months Fellowship in Foot and Ankle
- Desirable: Higher medical degree, CCT in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery OR on GMC Specialist Register in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery OR within six months of achieving CCT at time of interview
- Experience Essential: General training in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery to specialist level or equivalent, Evidence of ability to make decisions at consultant level, Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
