We are seeking a Medical Writer 1 (MW1), with prior experience in the role, to join our vibrant team in the healthcare communications sector. In this role, you will generate consistently high‑quality medical content across multiple accounts in alignment with the client’s brand strategy, while receiving structured support and development. You will build on scientific storytelling, strategic thinking and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accountability: Process complex scientific data to produce clear, accurate, high‑quality editorial deliverables. Leverage editorial capabilities to ensure strategic insights aligned with client expectations and maintain consistent quality.
  • Client Services: Work in a medical communications/pharmaceutical agency context. Engage in client meetings to refine project briefs, ensuring clarity and alignment with client expectations. Proactively assess client needs to exceed expectations and contribute to successful project outcomes.
  • Project Management: Manage small‑to‑medium sized projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget and timeline standards. Monitor progress and proactively flag scope creep to ensure successful delivery.
  • People Management: Foster professional development in a collaborative environment. Promote inclusivity, provide constructive feedback and encourage continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • Some experience in a medical communications/pharmaceutical environment
  • Foundational understanding of therapy areas (preferably in diabetes and/or oncology)
  • Flawless attention to detail and excellent quality control skills
  • Strong scientific background, educated to a minimum degree level in life sciences (MSc/PhD advantageous)
  • A passion for communications and science
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused attitude
  • Strong IT skills, comfortable with Microsoft packages such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Relevant writing experience in a medical communications/pharmaceutical role
  • Foundational understanding of healthcare and therapy areas
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
  • Strong scientific background, educated to a minimum degree level in life sciences (MSc/PhD advantageous)

  • Strong organisational, time‑management and interpersonal/team‑work skills

  • Strong IT skills, comfortable with ChatGPT or alternatives, Microsoft packages such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
