NTGP has a fantastic opportunity for a salaried GP to join our multi-disciplinary team. The position will require GP sessions from both locations (on different days). We are flexible with sessions available and looking for a GP to cover 4 sessions per week. Preferred days are Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. You will be consulting with patients using face to face, telephone & via e-consultation methods. Our practice uses AccuRx or patients requests, this will include duty doctor days and home visits on a rota basis. You will be responsible for the provision of medical services to our patient population managing a caseload dealing with a wide range of health needs. You will be supporting & supported by the wide range of clinical and non-clinical team within the practice.

Main duties of the job:

  • To act at all times in accordance with the precepts of the GMC's Good Medical Practice.
  • To assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • To screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • To provide counselling and health education as appropriate.
  • To record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • To prescribe, in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary, all local and national guidelines, appropriately for the presenting condition.
  • To provide support for other clinicians such as nurses, nurse practitioners and health care assistants including the signing of prescriptions where appropriate.

We are a large forward-thinking practice of 15,000+ patients, providing quality healthcare and outcomes for our patients in the North Trafford area. We operate from two sites Chester Road and Seymour Grove. The team at NTGP comprises of 3 GP Partners, 9 Salaried GPs, 1 Physician Associate, 3 Pharmacists, 1 FCP and 6 Nursing staff along with a non-clinical team of 30+ staff led by the Business Manager. Our practices have been rated as Good by CQC and we take pride in delivering quality care to our patients and have a strong training and personal development ethos. We are part of North Trafford Primary Care Network. We are using EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical system along with Ask My GP to provide a digital platform to our patients.

Job responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations with patients of all ages.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Prescribe medications and review ongoing treatments.
  • Manage patients with complex or long-term conditions (e.g. diabetes, COPD).
  • Make referrals to secondary care and other services when necessary.

Patient Care & Safety:

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures for vulnerable patients.
  • Ensure high standards of care in line with NHS guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement and clinical governance.

Practice Involvement:

  • Work collaboratively with nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.
  • Participate in practice meetings and multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Qualified General Practitioner, GMC registration, NHS National Performers List registration, Medical defence organisation registration.
  • Desirable: EMIS Web & DOCMAN experience.

Experience:

  • Essential: Experience of practising as a GP in the UK.
  • Excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to the delivery of high-quality clinical care within a framework of Clinical Governance.
  • Awareness of local Safeguarding policies and relevant legislative guidance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a range of NHS primary care and community services.
  • Integrated approach to team working and a willingness to fully participate in Practice Meetings.
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to share good practice.
  • Proof of vaccination and immunity status in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines.
  • Driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Enhanced DRB clearance.

Other Responsibilities within the Organisation:

  • To be aware of, and comply with, all relevant practice policies/guidelines.
  • Ensuring up to date yearly appraisals.
  • To support the primary health care team in all quality initiatives.
  • To attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
  • To work collaboratively with other members of the Primary Health Care Team.
