About the Role
Alnylam is looking for a Senior Medical Director to lead Clinical Research within our Hepatology therapeutic area. This role is pivotal in driving the clinical development strategy and execution for our innovative RNAi-based pipeline. You will provide medical leadership and clinical expertise across various phases of drug development, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, execution, and analysis of clinical trials within the Hepatology portfolio.
- Provide medical oversight and safety monitoring for ongoing clinical studies.
- Develop and maintain clinical development plans (CDP) in alignment with corporate strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Medical Affairs.
- Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and clinical investigators to support study recruitment and data dissemination.
- Represent the clinical function in interactions with regulatory authorities (e.g., EMA, MHRA).
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) is required; specialization in Hepatology or Gastroenterology is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience in clinical research within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Proven track record of leading clinical development programs through various phases.
- Strong understanding of GCP, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial methodology.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence in a matrix environment.
