Job Description
The Health Economics (HE) Manager reports into the HTA Lead for the UK and will be based out of our offices in Maidenhead. The HTA Team is part of the UK Market Access Division and our mission is to turn research into reality by securing unrestricted access for patients to our life changing medicines.
Objective
To secure positive recommendations for our life changing medicines by demonstrating cost-effectiveness through the development of the highest quality and most robust submissions possible.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development of UK HE deliverables, working in close collaboration with global colleagues and external vendors.
- Accountable for the cost-effectiveness (CE), network meta-analysis, and budget impact deliverables of UK HTA submissions.
- Lead engagement with external experts in health economics to obtain external input and validate health economic approach.
- Represent AbbVie with a high degree of professionalism at NICE, SMC and AWMSG committees.
- Provide early advice on asset CE and pricing through the use and development of appropriate frameworks and models.
- Key internal UK stakeholders include Health Technology Assessment Managers and other Market Access colleagues, Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research, and Commercial Leads. Global HEOR is also a key stakeholder for the HE Manager.
Qualifications
- First degree in a relevant subject e.g. life sciences, economics, mathematics.
- MSc or PhD in Health Economics.
- Understanding of economic concepts relevant to UK HTA.
- Understanding of evidence synthesis techniques.
- Experience of developing and adapting CE models.
- Experience of developing CE and budget impact elements of UK HTA submissions.
- Experience of identifying and addressing evidence gaps relevant to demonstrating CE.
- Ability to work collaboratively across matrix functions.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into simple language.
- Ability to work to timelines.
