Senior Staff Nurse/ODP - Interventional Radiology/Cardiac Cath Lab London

You will work within the Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Cath Lab Department; therefore, peri-operative experience, such as scrub and circulating, would be desirable. However, you will be given training and support in our specialist skills and in peri-operative care. We have an excellent and supportive Practice Education Team who will assist with your orientation and ongoing professional development. The Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheter Lab runs Monday to Friday 0800-1800hrs, with a 24h on-call service, including weekends and Bank holidays.

Main duties of the job:

• The Interventional Radiology Team perform procedures that include central venous access device insertion, biopsy, airway intervention, feeding device insertion, vascular intervention, angiography, and angioplasty.
• To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality nursing care to children and families.
• To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner.
• To assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
• To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice.
• To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.

The Cardiac Cath lab carries out many cardiac procedures including:

• ASD/PDA closures
• ICD implants
• Diagnostic catheters and combined MRI/angiography cases in our state of the art Cardiac Cath Lab suite.
• In addition, we provide continuing care to our heart and lung transplant patients.

• Essential: NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC registered ODP (appropriate to clinical speciality).
• Evidence of ongoing professional development relating to clinical speciality - i.e. University Accredited modules e.g. Theatre Course, Leadership course.
• Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience.

Experience/Knowledge:
