An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, fixed term locum consultant in the Department of Endocrinology at the Barts Cancer Centre, initially for a period of 12 months. The postholder will be based at St Bartholomew's Hospital and will work with the endocrinology team in providing high quality care to endocrine and general medicine patients. The successful candidate will join an effective service during an exciting period of change and development. The service is currently moving to a new location with an expanded bed base and an opportunity to develop the Endocrine Centre of Excellence.

Job responsibilities:
- To develop his/her own interests within the specialty, including active participation in research programmes.
- To contribute to the provision of comprehensive, efficient and high-quality care throughout the treatment and management pathway of endocrinology and general medicine patients.
- To undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients in their charge and the running of their clinics or departments.
- To maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge and provide evidence based care for all patients.
- To attend multidisciplinary team meetings.

- Full and specialist registration (with a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration).
