Training

Upon successful completion of probation, Autism360 will support you through your ADIR and ADOS training if not already completed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and management of the clinical team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. You will be responsible for the line management of the clinical team ensuring adherence to company policies, processes, clinical governance requirements and regulatory standards. You will support team members in relation to caseload management, clinical capacity and planning of clinical delivery.
  • Have the ability and willingness to hold productive, but challenging conversations, and follow formal processes where team members are not meeting quality standards or performance targets. You will be responsible for all matters relating to line management including sickness management and performance management, preceptorship and probation.
  • Manage informal resolutions to concerns/complaints received from patients and families. Assist the patient experience team to respond to formal complaints where an informal resolution has not been successful, requiring an investigation of the concerns, identifying opportunities for improvement and a written response. Implement agreed action plans from complaints and patient safety incident reviews.
  • Conduct regular team meetings at least monthly to share knowledge, cascade information from Keys Health, and address challenges. Use these meetings to enhance team cohesion and ensure a unified approach to patient care, ensuring consistency across Autism360 service. Collaborate with the Deputy Head of Operations to ensure seamless coordination and efficient operations and address any issues that may impact patient care or experience.
  • Be the first point of contact for team members to report and record clinical incidents, taking all necessary actions to ensure the immediate safety of patients, their families and staff.
  • Complete a range of patient safety incident reviews and investigations at the instruction of the Clinical Director or Patient Safety Lead. Analyse and interpret a range of facts and situations and make appropriate recommendations to learn from the findings of the incident.
  • Oversee and manage mental health risk and/or safeguarding concerns raised by your team. Provide support so they can carry out their role efficiently and promote a culture of safe management of risk. Serve as the first point of contact for support regarding risk management, providing advice and guidance and ensuring adherence to relevant legislative and legal requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Autism Senior Clinicians to induct new staff, supported by the wider onboarding programme within the organisation, and provide support to clinicians throughout the probationary period as required.
  • Possess well‑developed communication skills, both orally and in writing, to convey complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to patients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside of the organisation.
  • Ensure all appraisals, annual leave requests and sickness monitoring are up to date for the allocated team.
  • Coordinate with Senior Clinicians and HR to monitor clinical performance and undertake performance management plans where necessary.
  • Take responsibility for continuous professional development, maintaining a sound level of professional knowledge and competence in line with the professional development plan agreed at annual appraisal.
  • When the Senior Clinician is absent, provide support in their duties as and when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified healthcare professional with current UK registration with the appropriate governing body (e.g. NMC, HCPC) with no restrictions on practice.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently and manage own workload.
  • Excellent clinical decision‑making skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to engage with clients, colleagues and carers.
  • Experience with remote work and conducting virtual clinics.
  • Detailed understanding of co‑occurring conditions and differential diagnosis, including mental health conditions.
  • Strong understanding of NICE Guidelines for Autism assessment and diagnosis.
  • Strong communication, empathy, analytical skills and experience with neurodivergent individuals.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Desirable – Experience in conducting autism assessments using ADOS‑2 and ADI‑R assessment tools.
