We have an exciting opportunity for an orthotic technician to join our existing team in the leatherwork process of our Metal and Leatherwork department. Our aim is to create positive turning points through innovative prosthetic, orthotic and assistive technology products combined with continuously committed clinical services. Joining Steeper as a Leatherwork Technician means you’ll be part of a company which truly makes a difference to the quality of peoples’ lives.
Your Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a leatherworker you will produce metalwork products such as BKs and KAFOs within leatherwork completing a finished product. This includes stitching, cutting, glueing and scouring of leather and padding.
- You will be responsible for making products that are bespoke and made to measure for an individual patient.
- It is highly important for orders to be actioned effectively and efficiently to satisfy the requirements of our patients and clinicians.
What we are looking for:
- To do this role you will need to be confident at using hand tools, and have excellent attention to detail.
- You’ll also need to be focused and able to demonstrate that you can operate in a high-pressure volume related environment, ensuring that all work undertaken is ready for delivery within the relevant timescales.
- Work with fellow technicians to improve processes and overall production effectiveness.
- Maintain KPI’s (key performance indicators).
- Train and develop others in the team.
- Undertake training as deemed necessary.
- Ensure that all NCRs are processed without a backlog.
- Troubleshoot issues as and when required.
- Sewing machine experience (industrial and flatbed sewing machine).
