MHST Senior Clinician Lowestoft, King's Lynn & Norwich

We are looking to recruit Senior Clinicians (B7) to support within schools in our Lowestoft, King's Lynn & Norwich teams, delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people and their families with mild to moderate mental health problems. Main duties of the job:

• Support teams in either Lowestoft, King's Lynn or Norwich and provide a high-quality service to students (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
• Supervise Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and deliver evidence-based interventions to support the recovery of young people referred to the service.
• Engage in important clinical work within schools and colleges.
• Provide assessment of health, development, and biopsychosocial needs in an educational setting.
• Work creatively with the Clinical & Team Lead and other members of the team to create training packages for teachers and support sessions for young people and parents/carers.
• Complete psychosocial formulations to inform care planning.
• Provide consultation as required to other professionals around mental health issues in children and young people in schools.
• Offer interventions such as CBT, solution focused work, guided self-help and group support to children and young people.
• Enhance emotional wellbeing and promote resilience in children and young people through educational workshops, assemblies and PSHE lessons.
• Supervise and manage other members of the team, including Trainee EMHPs.
• Produce accurate records, reports and observations as required.
• Liaise closely with other professionals including colleagues in the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service, GPs, Paediatricians, Specialist CAMHS, school counsellors, Children's Services, and other voluntary agencies.
• Measure outcomes for all interventions.
• Contribute to team multi-disciplinary working.
• Demonstrate understanding of the legal and ethical issues in providing mental health care to children and/or adolescents.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with professionals, agencies, charities and teams who also provide services to children and/or adolescents in the community.
• Represent the team at meetings as delegated by the Clinical Lead.

Qualifications & Training:

• Relevant professional qualification or equivalent e.g. Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, accredited CBT Therapist, qualification in systemic family therapy, qualification in child and adolescent psychotherapy, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapy and social worker.
• Appropriate and valid UK professional registration.

Experience:

• Experience of work with children and/or adolescents with mild to moderate mental health problems.
• Experience of clinically supervising team members with their own clinical work.
• Experience of working with and managing risk.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to feedback and discuss cases within the multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to communicate information on formulation, risk and intervention to staff from other disciplines.
