Are you a qualified, NMC registered, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visitor or a student SCPHN Health Visitor, qualifying in the next few months? Do you have:

Main duties of the job:

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive practitioners with strong initiative and a passion for contributing to the continuous development of our service. You will work in close partnership with Children and Family Hubs, schools, and other key agencies to ensure a holistic approach to care. We have within Waltham Forest excellent opportunities within our 0-19 team for innovative and motivated Health Visitors who are keen to contribute to the further development of our service. We have excellent partnership working with Waltham Forest Public Health Service, Primary and Secondary Schools, and General Practitioners to enable the Best Start in life and optimisation of health outcomes for children and young people.

Job responsibilities:

• Deliver the Healthy Child Programme, conducting mandated contacts and providing tailored support to families.
• Work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Contribute to safeguarding children and young people, adhering to local and national guidelines.
• Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to address complex needs and improve outcomes.
• Facilitate and support service development and change initiatives.
• Effectively manage a caseload, including universal and targeted populations, ensuring equitable service provision.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to colleagues and students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies.
• Participate in health promotion activities and community engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Essential: Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification (Health Visiting).

Skills and Abilities:

• Essential: Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritise a caseload.

Experience:

• Essential: Experience of specialist knowledge with reference to child development, perinatal mental health, child protection.

Skills and Abilities:

• Essential: A range of clinical skills including assessment of development, health and identification of vulnerable children and their families.
• Essential: Competent in the use of Information Technology.
