Main Duties of the Job:

You will be working with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation for a range of neurological conditions. The role comprises of 2 x 9-month rotations, involving inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation and a mix of neuro outpatients and community rehabilitation. You will maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with the team, and appreciate cultural and religious differences in patient care.

Candidates should have CSP and HCPC memberships, a minimum of 1-year post-registration experience, NHS experience, and a full UK driving licence. The service, based at Farnham Hospital, operates Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. This role requires a DBS check and professional registration.

We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 Neuro Physiotherapist to support the rehabilitation service at Farnham hospital. The role is comprised of 2 x 9-month rotations. Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation on Runfold ward, with some additional care of the elderly/neuro rehabilitation. You will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team providing rehabilitation for a wide range of neurological conditions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To deliver high-quality evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation to support the management of patients with a range of conditions.
  • To maintain accurate records in line with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy standards and Trust and service standards and policies.
  • To communicate effectively with all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • To be able to communicate complex and sensitive information to patients, carers and other staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assess patients' understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid consent and work within a legal framework.
  • To appreciate cultural & religious differences and take these into account when agreeing treatment plans with patients.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • Membership of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • A minimum of 1 year post-registration experience across a variety of rotations
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car due to the community aspect of this role
  • NHS experience.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
