About Person Centred Software
At Person Centred Software, we build technology that genuinely improves lives. Our platforms are used by care providers across the UK and internationally, helping teams deliver safer, more efficient and more person centred care. We're growing quickly, with strong momentum in a sector where the need for reliable, high quality technology is only increasing. As we continue to scale, we're investing heavily in our Product Engineering teams to ensure we continue delivering stable, scalable and well tested products that support care providers every day.
The Role
We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join our Product Engineering team, working primarily on our mCare platform. This is a hands on QA and automation role where you'll help drive product quality across the full development lifecycle. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining automated test frameworks, contributing to testing strategy and ensuring software is delivered with stability and reliability at its core. Alongside automation, you'll also carry out exploratory and manual testing where needed, working closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers and other QA professionals within a collaborative product team.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Acting as a strong advocate for quality within the squad, helping shape testing strategy and approach
- Designing, building and maintaining automated and manual test scenarios, frameworks and tools
- Developing and extending automation frameworks using Playwright and Typescript
- Working closely with developers and Product Managers to refine requirements, acceptance criteria and test plans
- Executing automated, manual and exploratory testing across web applications and APIs
- Producing clear reporting around test coverage, quality and defects
- Supporting continuous improvement across testing processes and engineering quality
- Collaborating with developers to maintain strong unit testing standards
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience developing automated tests using Typescript
- Strong experience with Playwright for automated web testing
- Experience with testing tools such as MS Test or XUnit
- Good understanding of test driven development and full stack test automation
- Experience testing web applications and REST APIs
- Familiarity with SQL Server and NoSQL database testing
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
- A proactive mindset and genuine passion for delivering high quality software
Nice to Have
- Experience with web performance testing
- Understanding of WCAG and accessibility testing
- Exposure to Azure DevOps and test plans
- Experience mentoring or supporting automation best practice
- Experience introducing AI tooling into QA workflows
- Involvement in shift left testing approaches and process improvements
Why Join PCS
You’ll be joining a collaborative engineering environment where quality is seen as a key part of delivering great products, not just a final step in the process. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful software used daily within the care sector, while continuing to develop your automation and quality engineering skills using modern tooling and practices. You’ll have the chance to influence testing standards, improve engineering quality and contribute to products that have genuine real world impact.
