We're seeking an experienced Band 6 Senior Audiologist to play a key role in our modernised Audiology Department. You'll move between acute hospital clinics, community services, and outreach sites, working closely with the wider MDT and providing leadership and guidance to colleagues. Main duties of the job: Based at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, you'll combine advanced clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, supervising junior colleagues, contributing to service development, and working across both hospital and community settings. You'll deliver complex diagnostics and rehabilitation for both adults and children and have the opportunity to specialise in areas of interest.
Job responsibilities:
- Have at least 3 years post-qualification experience at Band 5 level
- Hold a BSc in Audiology (or equivalent) and are HCPC or AHCS registered
- Can perform a full range of diagnostics, including speech audiometry, and manage complex cases
- Have experience in mentoring, service innovation, and multidisciplinary team working
- Bring excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Person Specification:
Education:
- Essential: BSc degree in Audiology from an accredited University OR - Equivalent qualifications BAAT part 1 and 2 (until 2006). Be registered with AHCS or HCPC.
- Desirable: Evidence of learning from relevant professional courses/seminars Post qualifying clinical experience in Audiology. Driving license.
Knowledge:
- Essential: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Basic Grade Audiologist with acquisition of skills expected at a senior level. Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Clinical Governance knowledge. Able to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests including tympanometry, speech audiometry, acoustic reflexes and TEOAE, PTA, and otoscopy including video otoscopy. Able to perform hearing aid fittings with verification e.g., REMS. Experience in performing Hearing assessment Direct Referral clinics from GP's, prescribing hearing aids, identifying red flags and the need for further investigation and onward referral.
- Desirable: Experience with Auditbase and Phonak hearing aids Experience of training other lower grades of staff. Previous NHS experience.

- Essential: Ability to communicate with staff and others, such as GPs, ENT consultants and managers on occasions. Good personal time management.

- Essential: Evidence showing clinical and professional development. To be able to plan, assess, evaluate and implement patient care.
