We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e. g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
- Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
- Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
- Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
- Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
- Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
- Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e. g., PACS, RIS).
- Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
Applicants should meet the following criteria
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.
- Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e. g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
