About the company

Terra is the health operating system. We make it easy for developers and AIs to build on health data. Hundreds of wearables, sensors, labs, and health apps are connected, normalized, and made intelligent through a single platform. Thousands of developers and AI labs build on Terra today. We process 15+ billion health data events per year. The health OS solves the fragmentation of health data, turning raw, messy, siloed data into something developers and AIs can reason over, build on, and ship with. Terra was founded in 2021 and operates from London, San Francisco, and South Korea. We are funded by Y Combinator (W21), General Catalyst, Samsung NEXT, NEXT Ventures, and many of the world's finest investors. Our team consists of engineers, researchers, builders, and designers who get things done, think from first principles, and learn ferociously.

About the role

We need a dealmaker who understands health data infrastructure. Someone who can negotiate data rights, consent frameworks, and SLAs with legal teams while speaking product with CCOs of wearable companies. You will own the full pipeline — upstream and downstream. Upstream involves connecting data suppliers like wearable companies, fitness platforms, blood labs, and hospital systems to Terra, negotiating terms, and managing relationships. Downstream involves landing deals with developers and AI labs consuming through our API, expanding usage, and making Terra indispensable. You will close enterprise-scale deals with companies that have hundreds of millions of users, managing complex, multi-stakeholder agreements across product, legal, privacy, commercial, and regulatory aspects.

You will define the ecosystem strategy, determining which verticals and geographies unlock the most downstream value. You will negotiate data supplier agreements that hold up under scrutiny, ensuring compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA. You will represent Terra in important settings, being credible with leaders of billion-dollar health businesses due to your understanding of the health data ecosystem and commercial dynamics.

Who You Are

You have closed deals that changed a business's trajectory, not just managed a partner portfolio. You have experience in health, fitness, wearables, or health data, understanding the ecosystem and regulatory challenges. You are familiar with platform economics and have worked at or sold into API-first companies or developer platforms. You navigate complexities without defaulting to legal checks and think strategically while executing operationally. You are not a conformist; you have built commercial engines from scratch or scaled growth models against the odds.

Big Plus

You are an athlete or are obsessed with quantifying your own data. The discipline and ambition required to improve daily align with our energy. Understanding health data through personal experience will help you build better partnerships.
