Are you a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives? Join our Children's Community Health Team at HCRG Care Group, where you'll provide high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children, empowering them and their families to achieve their full potential. As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, supporting children with a range of developmental and performance challenges. You'll work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to enable self-management, independence, and well-being in children's daily lives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out high-quality School Based Assessments, as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for children and young people.
  • Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
  • Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
  • Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
  • Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.
  • Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Knowledge or training in ASD strategies/interventions (e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
  • Evidence of post-graduate training or equivalent experience in child development, ASD, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Experience working with children in a similar paediatric setting.
  • Confidence in using a variety of assessments and treatment approaches.

Desirable:

  • Membership of BAOT.
  • Membership of a Special Interest Group.
  • Clinical Educator qualification.
  • Experience delivering community-based children's OT services.

Other requirements: the successful applicant will need to be a car driver.
