Role Overview
You will be Flok's first dedicated test hire, taking ownership of testing and product quality for patient‑facing application and internal clinician tools. This is an individual contributor role with scope for technical leadership in testing strategy and direction.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building automated tests (e2e, scale and device‑compatibility tests)
- Performing manual testing where it adds value
- Setting overall test strategy, prioritising effort, and writing clear QA plans
- Managing the software release process and documenting releases for medical device regulatory compliance
- Reviewing product requirements
- Participating in bug triage/diagnosis and incident investigations
- Configuring CI systems and maintaining test environments
- Improving system observability to facilitate easier testing and debugging
- Providing input into system design decisions with a focus on testability
- Fixing some of the bugs you find where appropriate
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills (ideally in Python / TypeScript)
- Wide‑ranging system/software test experience, including a breadth of different styles of testing, focusing on whole‑system testing and overall product quality
- Comfortable setting up CI systems and test environments
- Enjoy working with design and product teams to shape exceptional products
- Care deeply about users – champion great experience and quality clinical care
- Take initiative and ownership of work, and communicate clearly
