Salary
Starting salary for Level 3 qualified is between £19,248 and £20,011 per annum (£27,765 FTE to £28,866 FTE per annum) depending on experience (BI 9).
Starting salary for Level 2 qualified is between £18,671 and £18,982 per annum (£26,933 FTE to £27,382 FTE per annum) depending on experience (B 10).
Position
We are seeking to recruit a permanent Nursery Nurse to work within one of our base rooms. The Nursery Nurse will assist with the care and development of children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years and will be responsible for a key group of children within their room. A Level 2 Early Years qualification is essential and a Level 3 Early Years qualification is highly desirable for this post.
Working Hours
Various working hours are available, including 12pm‑5:45 Monday to Thursday and 12pm‑5:15 on Fridays. Part‑time hours of 2, 3 or 4 whole days per week are also an option. We cannot offer term‑time only hours.
Location
Our Nursery is primarily for the use of staff at the Babraham Institute, a charity world‑renowned for its research in life sciences. The nursery was opened in September 1990 and operates from a large house situated in a quiet corner of the residential area within the Institute grounds. It has a homely atmosphere surrounded by green fields and woods, with a large enclosed garden including a climbing frame, pathways, and grassed areas.
The nursery accommodates up to ninety children on the Early Years register aged from 6 weeks to 5 years and operates a separate after‑school club and holiday club for school‑aged children at the local school.
