The Community Dental service has an exciting opportunity for a registered dental nurse who has a passion for working with vulnerable and medically complex patients. As an award-winning service, we offer high-quality dental care to people who are unable to access a 'high street' NHS dentist due to their additional needs. The post holder will provide chairside support to our Consultants, Specialists, Dentists, and Dental Therapists.
There will be the opportunity to develop your skills to enable you to support our clinicians when providing more specialised care such as inhalation sedation, domiciliary care, and working within the hospital theatre setting. The Community Dental Service provides mandatory training and clinical supervision, which supports you in maintaining the General Dental Council's CPD requirements. We provide a varied and competency-based induction programme to support you in your development within the service.
The successful candidate should have 2 years post-qualification experience and hold or be willing to work towards an NEBDN post qualification. We have seven sites across Bradford and Airedale. Travel across the district is a requirement of the role in order to successfully undertake the range of duties specified within the job description. Therefore, it is essential that applicants have the ability to travel across the district as and when required to meet the needs and demands of the service.
Main duties of the job:
- To provide chairside and clerical assistance to Consultants, Specialists, Senior Dentists, Dentists, Hygienists, and Dental Therapists.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day operational running of any of the Community Dental Service sites.
We will consider a variety of flexible working arrangements to enable staff to balance their work and home lives and support staff by offering a fantastic range of benefits including:
- Increased mileage rates for > 4500
- A wide range of health and wellbeing support packages
- A range of internal and external development and learning opportunities
- Plus many more.
BDCFT is dedicated to environmental and social sustainability by delivering on the commitments within our Green Plan. All staff are actively encouraged and supported to participate in training and to identify and implement sustainable quality improvement across all service areas and activities.
