About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include

  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy input as part of the multidisciplinary team, conducting medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
  • Optimise medicines use through evidence-based interventions, ensuring the safe and effective management of long‑term and acute conditions.
  • Lead on implementation of medicines optimisation strategies, ensuring prescribing is cost‑effective, safe, and aligned with national/local guidelines.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to junior pharmacists, pre‑registration trainees, and pharmacy technicians.
  • Act as the lead pharmacist for designated specialties or clinical areas, working closely with consultants, nurses, and AHPs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal frameworks including GPh C, CQC, MHRA, and controlled drugs legislation.
  • Applicants should meet the following criteria
  • GPh C‑registered Pharmacist.
  • Significant post‑registration experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in medicines optimisation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff.
