Job summary

The fixed term post aims to give a Paediatric doctor, who is interested in pursuing a career in Neonatal medicine, an opportunity to undertake a clinical role with training opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake clinical commitments to support the clinical neonatal service. The clinical work would be 100% of WTE.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to participate in the middle grade rota and to assist in providing:

• Resuscitation for newborns and their subsequent management
• Care of newborns on the postnatal wards
• Care of newborns on the transitional care ward
• Performance of the clinical work required in the Neonatal Unit including intensive care which also includes use of HFOV, Nitric Oxide, and Cooling for HIE.

Duties include undertaking clinics involving the follow up of new-born infants.

The clinical fellow will work with ST3-7 trainees and ANNPs on average on a 1 in 15 shift based rota. Shift times are 8.30am to 9.00pm, 8.30pm to 09.30am and 0900 to 1700.

• Full GMC registration
• NLS provider

EXPERIENCE

• 1 year experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level 3 NICU)

• Sound experience of advanced neonatal procedures
