We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Highly Specialist Neurology Physiotherapist to join our Community Neuro and Stroke Service on a bank basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist multidisciplinary service that provides rehabilitation and ongoing management for adults living with complex neurological conditions. The service supports individuals with a wide range of long-term neurological diagnoses, including:

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Stroke
  • Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
  • Other progressive and acquired neurological conditions

Initially, the successful candidate will work within the Neurology Outpatient Physiotherapy Service, with the opportunity to develop their skills and contribute to the specialist spasticity service over time. Our aim is to improve independence, health, and wellbeing by providing timely, person-centred interventions that enable individuals to achieve their own meaningful goals and maximise their quality of life.

Main duties of the job:

This role involves working within a specialist multidisciplinary service that provides rehabilitation and management for adults living with complex neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, and Spinal Cord Injury. The role involves developing personalised treatment plans, managing a diverse outpatient caseload, providing specialist advice, and contributing to the development of the Neurology and Spasticity Service.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree-level qualification in Physiotherapy (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Significant experience working with people with neurological conditions.
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams and alongside health, social care, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of neurological rehabilitation and the impact of long-term conditions on patients and carers.
  • Experience working across a range of settings, including outpatient services.
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development within neurological rehabilitation.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload independently and prioritise effectively.
  • Experience providing supervision, education, and support to colleagues and students.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing service demands.
  • Good IT skills and experience using clinical systems and digital technologies.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Postgraduate Diploma or Master's degree in a relevant clinical specialty or management.
  • Experience of spasticity management and working within a specialist spasticity clinic.
  • Advanced knowledge of professional, national, and organisational standards relating to neurological services.
  • Experience leading service improvement, service redesign, or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Training and experience in management and leadership practices.
  • Experience supporting workforce development through teaching, mentoring, and training programmes.
