The predicted salary is between 55 - 60 £ per hour.

We are looking to recruit suitably qualified doctors to work across specialties for work ranging from a single shift to an extended post, with evening, weekend and on-call shifts available (depending on shift availability). As this is Bank work, it is on an 'as and when' basis with no guaranteed hours.

Main duties of the job

  • To liaise between nurses, other clinicians, patients, relatives in order to support safe care.
  • To attend and participate in board rounds, ward rounds and other related daily activities.
  • To provide appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as and when needed as requested.
  • To maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in relation to documentation.
  • To arrive on time for the booked shift and be available for work from the arranged start time.
  • Attend local induction as appropriate when working in new areas.
  • Comply with Trust policies, including upholding the trust's values and behaviours.
  • Other duties commensurate with the post/grade as advised by the speciality clinical.

Designated Body: For Bank doctors if you are subject to Approved Practice Settings (APS) we require you to already possess a designated body on your GMC for employment on the MSE NHS bank.

Job responsibilities

For Bank doctors to be connected to Mid and South Essex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a GMC approved designated body they must work a minimum of 12 shifts per month. If the applicant is already registered with an Agency then they remain the Designated Body and Responsible Officer.

Person Specification

Knowledge

  • Essential: 6-12 months UK Experience in a UK Hospital.
  • Competencies: FY1 and FY2 both signed off.
  • Desirable: Ability to develop and maintain a sub-speciality interest.

Qualifications

  • Essential: MBBS or equivalent from a recognised Medical School. Full Registration with the General Medical Council. Designation of Responsible Officer listed as NHS on GMC.
  • Desirable: BSC or relevant degree.
